SRA Continuing Professional Development

You may claim CPD credit up to 75% of your annual obligation for any assessment submitted provided you reach the minimum standard of 60% of all answers submitted in one assessment being correct. At least 25% of the CPD requirement must be met through attendance at accredited courses.

You must answer at least 12 questions in any assessment for which the CPD credit is one hour. If you choose to answer additional questions the additional CPD credit is 30 minutes per six questions.

How to submit your answers

Submit your answers online at www.practicallawyer.co.uk, or by post or fax: complete the supplied answer form and return to PL/CPD programme, Kensington Square House, 12-14 Ansdell Street, London W8 5BN.

All submissions must be made by the deadline published with each assessment.

Your responsibilities

The Solicitors Regulation Authority requires that you maintain a Personal Training Record of your CPD. You are advised to keep a copy of your answers to check you have at least 60% correct against the answers published in the next-but-one journal issue following the assessment.

You must make your submission in the manner described here.

You must notify us of relevant changes in your circumstances, eg address or name.

Our responsibilities

We will issue an assessment test with every issue of the journal and publish the correct answers in the next-but-one issue.

We will accept answers submitted online, or by post, or fax, provided they are submitted by the published deadline. We accept no liability for the consequences of any submission not being received by us or being received after the deadline.

A copy of our record of your CPD credit will be sent to you twice a year and is available to the Solicitors Regulation Authority on demand.

We will answer any queries you may address to us concerning the programme. General queries concerning the CPD scheme should be addressed to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

We accept no liability for the accuracy of the contents of the assessment in relation to any specific situation in which you may advise or take any other action.

Remember: You can get 75% of your CPD requirements through The Practical Lawyer programme.
